We arrived home from sunny LA in the midst of a snowstorm. #WelcomeHome I hid inside most of today, until I could no longer deny there was nothing to eat for supper. I bundled mister Z and as soon as the stroller hit the sidewalk I knew I needed something to warm my soul. I was running a little behind … [Read more...]
February is rapidly fading into history, and with it the memory of those New Years resolutions that we set with such good intentions... I hope I'm not alone here. Why is it so difficult to follow through on things that we truly desire for our lives? When we want to make a big change in our lives, it's easy to … [Read more...]
Traveling with a toddler? No need to panic. A little preparation and you’ll be fine!
The full collection, as squeezed into Mr. Z’s diaper bag. Ingredients for an entertaining and hopefully uneventful 6 hr flight from NYC to SF
A few favorite tiny toys made the journey with us. These deliver a high ratio of fun to volume – a very important consideration for inclusion in a bag that fits fully under the seat in front of you…
An abundance of art supplies for creative outlet in flight. Crayons, stickers, colored pencils, and yes even a tray of watercolors (a few pieces of ice make these usable without the risk of a cup of water). Maybe a little overboard here, but what can I say – when it comes to creating, we like to have options.
Books are a must if you want to avoid hours of screen time on your journey. Put one or two favorites in the diaper bag for taxi and take off, and the rest in the top compartment of your roll behind for easy access when the seatbelt sign goes off.
I could take a moment to complain about having to pay for food on a cross country flight, but let’s be honest, I wouldn’t really want to give Mr. Z airline food anyway. A compartmentalized tray full of finger foods makes a great meal, even on a long flight. We had walnuts, pistachios, olives, mary’s gone crackers, cheddar cheese, an apple, raspberries, cucumbers, and a kind bar (or three). This kept all of us satiated until we reached our final destination.
In flight entertainment: miles clocked up and down the aisles, followed by cuddles and story time with the Baba.
For a long time I’ve been thinking about writing a blog about what I’m learning at any given time… Things I discovered along the path to becoming a conservationista Explorations on the nature of attachment during my yoga teacher training (and beyond) Things I learned about healthy living & habit … [Read more...]
The stories we repeat are what define us,
so why not talk about the good stuff more often?
